CHANDLER - Graveside services for James Larry Nolen, 54, Chandler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park with Elder Malachi Micheaux officiating under direction of Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler. Mr. Nolen died July 31, 2007, in Chandler. He was born July 29, 1953, in Tyler. He was a graduate of John Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from The University of Texas. He was an English teacher at Robert E. Lee High, assistant principal and principal for TISD, dormitory supervisor, summer Bible school teacher, administrator youth counselor, Sabbath school superintendent. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy Nolen and Naomi McGee; father, J.D. Hamilton; grandparents, Quilla and Doll Williams, James and Mittie A. Nolen and Howard and Letitia McGee. Survivors include godparents, Edward and Shirley Johnson, Chandler; brothers, Earnest Nolen, Brighton, Colo., Gerrie Nolen, Tyler, and Curtis Purvey, Chandler; sisters, Sheila Black, Debra Taylor, Earnestine Crayton, Linda Frazier, Tyler, and Elsie D. Purvey. Pallbearers will be Ricky McClinton, Y.D. Hutchins, Reginald Johnson, Andre Wyatt, Andrew Shaw Sr. and Cornelius Butler. Brothers, nephews and cousins will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Faith Tabernacle Church Building Fund, P.O.
