I do remember Steve, he was always laughing and very friendly. 

This week I read in the newspaper of his passing.  His obit was in the paper on Sunday and on Tuesday, I learned he was living two streets over in my neighborhood.  I only wished I had known that he lived this close.

Services for Steven James Roeland, 57, Tyler, are scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Glenwood Church of Christ with Tommy Gilbreath officiating under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mr. Roeland died March 26, 2011, in Tyler. He was born Oct. 8, 1953, in Long Beach, Calif. He attended John Tyler High School and Tyler Junior College. He worked at Caldwell Zoo and was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Haydee Roeland, Tyler; daughter, Ruth Roeland, Tyler; and brother, Curtis Roeland, Tyler.
